Marshall is the 2011 Financial Planner of the Year for Professional Investment Services.

Marshall Brentnall was chosen from more than 1400 financial advisers in PIS' Australian network at the 2011 Annual Conference held in Las Vegas in April 2011. The award is judged by the PIS executive and management team based on a combination of factors that include production, professional standards, ongoing activity, business growth, and advocacy of the Group.

Marshall's unwavering commitment to delivering effective and appropriate financial solutions inspired him to branch out on his own and establish Evalesco Financial Services in 2002.

The lighter side

What word do you always spell incorrectly?
None. It's been a while, but I try to live up to my reputation as year 6 spelling champ!

What's the best fancy dress costume you've ever worn?
Serena Williams.

What would you like to be in your next life?
I still have plenty to do in this one yet, but it would no doubt involve strapping on my boots as a Wallaby.

What are your pet hates?
Slow walkers.

Where do you do your best thinking?
Over poached eggs at my local cafe on a Friday morning.

The lighter side

What would you order for your last meal ever?
For entrée, seared scallops with soy and ginger. For main, lamb rack with roast vegetables. And if I have room for dessert, sticky date pudding with cream.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Unfortunately, you're not going to have the professional rugby league career you've been dreaming of, so redirect some of that time and energy to studying instead!

What's for dinner on Sunday night at your house?
Pizza made by me and my four year old son, Oscar.

Describe your worst wardrobe malfunction?
Somehow I packed a mismatched suit jacket and pants for a wedding in Orange. I wore it anyway hoping nobody would notice (not that I had a lot of other options), but that hope was shattered when the groomsman kindly publicised it in his speech.

Belinda Marley-Wallace   Practice Manager

What is your signature dish?
Lime cheesecake. It's fiddly, but I guess that's why it is a winner every time!

What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?
Ostrich. Let's just say I wouldn't eat it again.

What makes you laugh?
Kids' innocence. If only we could all go back to our childhoods when we didn't have a care in the world.

What's your favourite party game?
Cups is the best party game I know. It's a team sport. Each person drinks their plastic cup full of their choice of beverage, then places their cup upside down on the edge of the table. Only when they have managed to flip that cup to stand right side up on the table does the next person get their turn.

What is your favourite childhood book?
The pokey little puppy.

What are the top three things on your bucket list?
•   Travel to India to watch the Australian cricket team play India at Eden Gardens.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Lolly store owner.

What do you do when you really want to treat yourself?
Cook up a big bowl of buttered popcorn, close the blinds, turn off the phone, and laugh myself
silly at 'Itchy and Scratchy' cartoons.

Kristi Teasel   Office Administrator & Receptionist

Kristi Teasel

Kristi is our 'Director of first impressions'

Kristi does a great job of looking after the administration of the business, allowing the Senior Financial Advisers to focus completely on their clients.

Prior to joining Evalesco, Kristi assisted a firm of lawyers in Hurstville for six years in their day to day operations.

The lighter side

It's a tie between Jodi Picoult and Paullina Simmons.

Pamper myself with a massage or facial.

What was your first ever paid job?
Checkout chick at Toys R Us.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
The Greek Islands. Rather than just choose one, I would island hop chasing the breathtaking views, perfect climate and the amazing food and drinks.

Barbara Richardson   Client Services Manager

Kristi Teasel

If it's true that it's the quiet ones you have to watch, we better keep a close eye on Barbara.

Barbara's key role is to assist our financial advisers in delivering superior quality advice and solutions to our clients.

Barbara works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that all of the pieces of the advice puzzle fit into place. She spends most of her time liaising between our clients and the recommended product and service providers.

After working in the legal industry for 12 years and financial planning for the last nine, Barbara came to us with strong recommendations. The highest recommendation came from her four sons who she has served well for over 25 years (perhaps that's where she learnt to juggle tasks so well!)

How would your best friend describe you?
Loyal, always available for a chat and encouraging word.

What was your first ever paid job?
Waitressing at the National Gallery of Victoria, where I served British Royalty.

What is your favourite time of the week?
Friday night - I take my boys to their youth groups then chill out, for tomorrow we sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast (before soccer).

What's your all time favourite movie, and why?
I have two and they are very different from each other. The romantic side of me would say 'The Proposal' because love always shows its shining light. My compassionate side would say 'The Shawshank Redemption' because even in the face of persecution and adversity, there can be a happy, peaceful and righteous outcome.

Phillippa Calder   Client Services Manager

Phillippa thrives on dotting the i's and crossing the t's

Even if Phillippa doesn't attend a client meeting, her presence will definitely be felt. She will have prepared all the information required by our financial advisers for a productive meeting, and she will follow up all the action items with clients, product and service providers, and our team members.

Phillippa has an extensive background in the financial services industry, working for six years as a Practice Development Manager with Professional Investment Services and prior to that 11 years in various funds management roles.

The lighter side

What was your favourite childhood toy?
When I was a toddler, my mother knitted a dark green woollen donkey with a white fur mane. The furry mane tickled my nose.

As we have just finished major house renovations, I would put it towards our mortgage. I guess our life is no different to many other young Australians.

Describe your perfect day.
It would be a typical Sydney summer day, warm and blue. In no particular order, the day would involve coffee, friends, family, food and wine.

What's your pet peeve?
My husband taking the last chocolate biscuit and not replacing the packet!
